	Sounds like his wife might have come to her senses if she's fessing up. Does anyone know specifically what the charge is against him and what kind of punishment he might receive? It disgusts me to hear that they used God's name to lure people in. Our elderly neighbor got involved in his scam. Her life savings is gone. Thanks for the info on who victim's should contact.

	Thanks so much for the info on whom we should contact. What really got me was when I kept questioning him about the release of our money and he made the comment "Smile, it can fool a lot of people". I would hate to be in his shoes when he does stand before God to be judged. If anyone hears the details of the hearing please keep us informed. I will keep all of you in my prayers.

It makes me wonder...If he was wrong using GOD, the investors were equally wrong in their use of God. As for Alice. Not all canary's sing from a cage. She I believe to be more at fault than Howard was. She is probably the one that has the knowledge of the missing 1.5m. Since the rest of the money was located it seems to me that Howard wasn't trying to defraud.Makes me believe that all of you used GOD to hopefully profit. Pray for yourselves

I feel sorry for those of you who have lost money in Howard's scheme. But did you ever think twice about checking the Better Business Bureau or ask more questions before investing. Many people get pulled into seeming legitamate schemes. It is your fault for using God falsely to invest money for personal "spiritaul" gain. I feel most sorry for his family members who are not involved. And shame on all of you posting their address on a public website. Do things through proper channels. Do you want all your dirty laundry hung out for everyone to see? Shame on all you for making guilty accusations about people when all you're going on is heresay.

In reference to "inquire", Alice didn't really strike me as someone who'd have the manipulative skills to fight her way out of a wet paper bag much less perpetrate a con so I'd still stick most of the blame with him. Of course I only met them once and he just struck me wrong but after that and hearing my neighbor's situation I think she feels the same way. Of course Alice also struck me as someone who'd blindly do anything their husband told them to, so who knows. Also by my math (based on the article in the N&R): If Howard spent 1.5 mil on himself, and sent 2.3 mil back to investors as pretend interest on their investment then 2.4 mil of the original 6.2 mil is still missing. So that's 2.4 mil worth of defrauding right there. I had not heard the rumor it was in a bank here. As much as he supposedly traveled overseas, my bet's on it being hidden there.

	As I said I only met them the once and to show how much I know, I only knew of her having one child. My neighbor only spoke of the one and I since I din't get past their office area didn't see any family photos. I hope the authorities got all the computers that were in that space.

For your information, Mr Zerkle was checked out before any money was handed over to him. He had nothing against him. You think all these people who invested money with him deserved what they got? Because it sure sounds to me that is what you are trying to say. I am personally related to someone who invested her entire life savings. He came off as being a good CHRISTIAN man, well what a bunch of hogwash. He new exactly what he was doing from the day this started, and so did his wife. You, as a human being are entitled to your opinion, but so are the 138 people who invested a total of 6.2 million dollars, and believe me our opinions are the he is a CROOK and SCAM ARTIST.

After reading the article in the N&R and hearing all of your comments, as investors you all seriously believed that someone could take $15,000 and turn it into $9 million in a way that was legal? You must be a friend or family member of Howard "Jerkle". I dont see how you could defend the man or try to see him as "Human". Making a mistake is "Human". He did not mistakenly defraud all of these people. It was a planned out scam and he used what ever means he could to obtain trust from many good hardworking people who were simply trying to provide for thier families and thier future. I was not in it to GET RICH. I was not promised millions on a minor investment. I am a bit broken but not destroyed and I will recover. Some of the people will not and I can not chalk that up to a "Human Mistake". This man deserves the full wrath of the legal system as well as the wrath of the God he used to gain our trust. But I will leave that to both of those entities to handle. I will give what information I have to the authorites, My prayers to God and let them both handle this man as I try to put my future back together. I may recover financially over time but I will never trust anyone again. All the investors have the right to be bitter and hurt. We all need a place to vent our frustrations. Gary Hanneken and his new ministry "Limo for Jesus" GLEN BURNIE, Md.—Gary Hanneken, a member of Faith Church, Glen Burnie, was looking for the next Holy Spirit inspired adventure and found it in the shape of a limousine –a “Limo for Jesus.� Hanneken plans to use a limousine for ministry. Anyone who wants to use the limousine service will be able to do so for a donation of any amount to their chosen ministry, processed through Faith. To begin the ministry, Hanneken began looking on EBay, a popular internet auction site. He saw a limousine listed that was in Dayton, Ohio. Hannekin was on his way to BWI airport ready to fly to Dayton when he felt God impress upon him to go back and look again on EBay, that the one in Ohio wasn’t right. He went back and found another limo just listed by a couple in North Carolina. “I was talking to the seller and in the course of the conversation I said, ‘Praise Jesus’ and he said ‘Praise Him brother.’� The sellers, Howard and Alice Zerkle are believers who amazingly owned the limousine and were letting their church use it for the same purpose Hanneken intended. Hanneken agreed to their terms and the Zerkles drove the limo straight through from North Carolina to the Glen Burnie home of Hanneken and his wife, Cathy. There was a problem though. The Zerkles had not used the limo, they just let the church use it and they didn’t realize that the vehicle needed major repairs. From a distance the car looked great, but a closer look revealed some serious problems – the body was rusted, the vinyl roof was peeling, the tint was peeling from the windows, the carpet had rust on it, the television/ VCP was broken and the audio system didn’t work properly. And the check engine light was on. The Zerkles felt bad about it and agreed to help out. Hanneken praised God and said he knew God brought them together and had plans for His limousine. “I saw the Holy Spirit in them,� Hanneken said. “The Lord brought us together.� The first thing to be done was to get the check engine light taken care of. Hanneken went to several mechanics asking for help. One mechanic did get the light off, but it came back on and the mechanic told Hanneken it needed a catalytic converter. That diagnosis turned out to be a Godsend. While looking for a converter, He went to J’s Auto Care, in Glen Burnie, where he met the owner, Jae Lee. When Hanneken shared his plan for the limo with Lee, Lee closed down the shop and gave him hours of free labor and brought the car “up to speed� mechanically to prepare it for inspection. Lee, it turned out, is a member of Global Mission Church in Silver Spring. Matthew, Hanneken’s son, is working on the graphics for the limousine in conjunction with “Signs in One Day,� a local business owned by Ian and Kathy Trostle. The company will work with Hanneken at a significantly reduced rate. He and Matthew plan to have the limo covered with witnesses for Christ, including the Roman Road, crosses and more. Hanneken’s other car, a P.T. Cruiser, is similarly adorned and people take notice. “If we walk away from car, the car still sends His message. That’s the way the limo will be,� Hanneken said. There is still a lot of body and interior work to be done. Other volunteers and local businesses are expressing a possible willingness to help. Some people are beginning to step up and say, ‘I want to be part of this project.’ Hanneken said he’s seen God’s hand throughout this process and is looking forward to seeing how it will progress. He looks at this as an opportunity and is seeking mission teams, church groups, Christian business owners and Christian auto workers to step up and help.
